Mainly manufacturing work boxes for the Northampton shoe industry and the Leicester textile and hosiery industries. This quickly evolved into manufacturing cases. The materials used back then are still being worked with today plus the addition of HDPE High Density Polyethylene sheet.
The unique manufacturing methods allow for total flexibility in size without using any special tooling, so we can manufacture just a single case to your particular size and design, for any item requiring protection or transportation, without breaking the bank.
The company changed ownership, bought by one of its customers, and who still own it today.
The core business of work boxes was diminishing as more and more plastic moulded crates came into the market, so Nomad invested in manufacturing Flight Cases and are now one of the busiest flight case companies in the UK.

Nomad acquired its major competitor 'The Enfield Box Company', which was formed way back in 1929. Its main business was supplying laundries with boxes which still continues to this day. Quite often you will see vintage laundry boxes at antique fairs all bearing an 'Enfield' label on the inside. Also in 2000, we started manufacturing padded bags and covers.
Shortly after the Enfield acquisition, Nomad purchased 'Custom Cases' who were formed in 1975. Custom's main business was in the medical industry ( Even Martin Clunes as Doc Martin carries a 82003 medical case!) and also presentation cases for reps samples. These cases are made using a vacuum formed ABS shell with an aluminium frame, die cut or routed foam inserts are then added to suit the products.
Custom also imported from the Far East and India, a range of quality briefcases which gave Nomad an introduction into this marketplace and sourcing possibilities

Manufacturing and sales partnership agreed with Dragon Cases, this strengthened our Flight case and padded bag business as well as bringing sales expertise.
We came to an agreement with another of our competitors, 'Excelsior Containers', to take over the fabrication side of their business so they could concentrate on their core business in rotational moulding. Excelsior was established in 1896.
Nomad acquired 'CF Cases' a prominent flight case company who supplied the MOD, the medical industry and the Audio Visual industry. This acquisition strengthened our manufacturing capabilities and allowed us to improve on our foam machining of bespoke internal foam fittings. CF started in 1980.
We took over the business of one of our longest standing customers ' Adda Supercases' who have been operating in the 'Disco' market since 1978 designing and selling the original Disc Jockey's Record Case along with protective equipment cases for the record decks and for lighting.
